Answers to even problems

4. As you can see, the wave shifts  2.4 m to the right at t = 2 seconds .

.

30. (a) v(1.6 m, 0.2 sec) = -1.51 m/s
           a(1.6 m, 0.2 sec) = 0
     (b) :

34. v = 3.00 cm/s
d = vt = 30.0 cm. The wave moves in the +x direction.
Sp1. See the absolutely exquisite hint. A = 11.18 units and phase angle = -63.43 degrees or 296.6 degrees. Either way you want to say it, , the angle is in the 4th quad.
Sp2.
(a) y = (0.200 mm) sin(16.03·x   - 3142·t). Note that the units of y are in mm, but the units of k are m-1. That's  because the units of x are in m.   Interesting.... Also, you might want to ask yourself how I got 3142. Anybody have an  answer ??
(b) Tension = 158 N.
